Dr Seuss was born March 2, 1904. His actual name was Theodor Seuss Geisel, and he is best known for his beloved children's books, such as The Cat in the Hat, Green Eggs and Ham, Horton Hears a Who, How the Grinch Stole Christmas, and The Lorax. Because of his mark on early childhood literacy, March 2nd has now become known as Read Across America Day in an effort to promote the importance of reading for younger generations. Sharing from last year: Green Eggs & Ham!
I don't know about you, but this is always a favorite book in my house! And as a child care provider I have often served up "Green Eggs & Ham!" It's quick and easy and the kids love it! And it's fun! So next Wednesday, March 2nd, plan on some Green Eggs and Ham for breakfast or even dinner! And enjoy! Don't forget to read some Dr. Seuss today!
- Eggs
- Green food coloring
- Ham, cut into cubes
Add food coloring to the eggs and whisk. Add ham cubes and pour into skillet (sprayed with cooking spray) heated over medium heat. Stir/scramble until eggs are done. Yes, the eggs will be green!
