Wave Warriors Summer Camp is a summer surfing and ocean safety experience. In the world of surfing and ocean sports, there is such a thing as a Waterman. A Waterman is not gender specific but is defined as someone who enjoys the ocean on any given day regardless of the conditions presented. This lifestyle includes surfing, paddling, stand-up paddling, ocean swimming, fishing, and beyond.
They offer a Monday - Friday 9 am - noon class for ages 7 and up and now also have a mini camp which is 1:30-2:30 pm for ages 4-6.
At Central Coast Watermen and the Wave Warriors Summer Camp, they focus their attention on teaching kids the importance of staying safe in the ocean. This includes understanding the tides, winds, swells, and variables that affect the waves we ride.
Your children will be split up into groups of like ability levels and put through various stations such as:
- An ocean responder station where they learn basic life-saving techniques and ocean principles depending on their age.
- A surfing station where they focus their attention on how to be great surfers and students of the ocean.
- A Waterman station where they hone their skills in bodysurfing, paddle boarding, and much more!
