WINNER! An Adventure to Remember: Onedome Interactive Arts

Macaroni Kid Fremont Review of Onedome Interactive Arts & Entertainment Venue in San Francisco

By Briana Hill April 9, 2019

Onedome is more than just a museum, it is an experience and an interactive playground for all ages. Keep reading to hear about our recent visit and then enter for a chance to win tickets to take the family!

Located in the heart of San Francisco, you will find Onedome. From the outside, I did not realize what truly would unfold while I was inside. There are two exhibits inside the building - the Unreal Garden and a Labyrinth of Immersive Art (LMNL) along with a lounge and the Elixart Cafe.

When you step inside there is a lounge and the Elixart Cafe, which is open to all free of charge. The drinks at the herbal cafe were very unique and unlike anything I had ever tried before. I tried the Kava, which is made from fresh kava roots to give off a euphoric high.

After having a few drinks, my friends and I checked out the Unreal Garden. The Unreal Garden is a vibrant interactive virtual reality art experience. I put on my glasses and stepped inside a garden to see the art pieces displayed come alive. When looking at each art piece, I was able to interact with it and read more about the artist or learn about the artwork. The Unreal Garden was very much a real experience but with a twist. It felt like I was truly a part of the art and could interact with it like never before. With the artwork being in virtual reality I was able to truly see it how the artist wanted it to be seen.

LMNL is what we adventured towards after the Unreal Garden. There are free lockers available to use which was great to put our coats and bags in. There are 14 rooms inside LMNL that are all vibrant and interactive. Each room is unique and uses different ways of interaction using the body. There are also a ton of neat photo ops throughout all of the rooms. The best part is being able to get creative to get those perfect angles and the best lighting to make our pictures turn out amazing. I really enjoyed that all of my senses were used during my experience inside LMNL.

While inside LMNL, we were not rushed nor had a time limit in each room. Being able to take in all of the art while still being able to interact with it, socialize with my friends and take great pictures really made my experience at Onedome genuine and an adventure to remember. The Unreal Garden evolved into a new installation to include more physical elements on March 31st, so we are planning another visit soon.
