Review: Flik Flak Watches

By Jennifer Hill ~ Sponsored Content November 12, 2015

I don’t know about your kids, but mine are constantly asking me what time it is. My daughter just turned 7 and is in second grade. They are in the beginning stages of learning to tell time in her class. While the others are just starting to figure it out, she has been telling time since she got her first Flik Flak watch in August.

This was our second time receiving Flik Flak watches to review and guess what? We still LOVE them! Let’s just say, now our 5 year old does pretty well at reading his watch – if he’s not sure, his sister has no problem telling him the correct time. And I give Flik Flak all of the credit – with Flik and Flak as the hands of the watch, kids quickly discover just how easy it is to learn.

Let’s start with a little about Flik Flak. They create high quality watches (water resistant and shock resistant) to survive the adventure of the kids on the playground and beyond. Flik Flak is all Swiss made with a Swiss quartz movement. And guess what? My daughter has had her first Flik Flak watch on since late August – she never takes it off. She swims with it weekly, showers with it, goes in the hot tub, literally, it never comes off. This is huge to me because her previous watch was not safe to wear in the water or high quality enough to wear to bed at night. So since it stays on her at all times, she doesn’t misplace it or need my help in putting it back on every single time it’s removed!! The watch she started wearing in August is still in perfect condition. The face of the watch looks brand new! And we both love the fabric strap – comfy and cute. And you can even toss it into the washing machine at 40’C, tied inside a sock to wash it! Seriously! And you can’t beat a 2 year warranty.

On to the coolness of Flik Flak and what makes it even more unique. The faces are easy to read and not only do they have the traditional numbers 1 through 12, but also “minute numbers” from 5 to 60, going by 5’s to help kids learn how to accurately tell time on a real watch. In addition, the minute hand is a different color than the hour hand which really helps to know which hand tells us what since on a watch, the hands are both so small - much easier to differentiate the two.

So which to choose? They have tons of Disney-themed watches, superheroes, many different girl and boy-themed choices and even some holiday-themed watches! For my review, we received Jeans for Her and Jeans for Him. They are adorable! Jeans for Her is covered in hearts and gemstones with a jean-looking strap and Jeans for Him features a “ripped pocket”, the orange stitching and a designer label and they both come inside a matching pencil case!

You can find them on their website and also in many stores and in every Swatch store. Their website also has some coloring pages and activities, as well as a video about Flik and Flak to help teach kids learn to tell time.

*I received two Flik Flak watches for the purpose of this review and for our Holiday Toy Time Party. All opinions are my own.
