Holiday Light Displays!

We love putting the kids in the car and driving around looking at the beautiful holiday displays each year! A cup of lukewarm chocolate for the kids, hot chocolate or coffee for parents, Christmas songs playing and maybe a special holiday snack and off we go to enjoy the displays! 

I've included the displays I know of here and would love for you to comment with any others I may have missed.

Fremont:
  • Crippsmas Place ~ Wellington Place: Decorations on Nicolet Ct., Cripps Pl., Asquith Pl. and Nicolet Ave. Donations accepted for multiple charities. Monday-Thursday 6-10pm, Friday and Saturday 5-11pm, Sunday 5-10pm through December 27th. There will be caroling by Kennedy High School Glee Club from 5:30-6 on December 22nd and by Brownie Troop #333437 at 6:30 on December 23rd.
  • Espada Court and Zacate Place ~ Neighborhood decorated Victorian-style with Victorian figurines and beautiful home displays.
  • Alameda Court ~ Disney characters and lots of lights. Entire court well-decorated.
  • 38643 Glencoe Drive ~ Several animated dioramas with mechanicals, singing and much more! As they are all activated by sensors, you are encouraged to walk along the pathway of displays and enjoy.
  • La Purissima Place ~ Entire court participates with large animated displays and decorations.
  • 47652 Papago Street ~ LED lights throughout dance to music with many inflatables and animated decorations. Every day 5pm-1am.
  • 40012 Catalina Place ~ There will be FREE hot chocolate, coffee, apple cider and candy canes. On Christmas Eve there will be marshmallow roasting for all, weather permitting. There will be some fun games for the small kids, too. Take your picture with a classic VW Bug as Rudolph and his snowmen tow Santa and Mrs. Claus into the holiday season. Or take a picture under the mistletoe with your loved one as the snowmen bring cheer. Then take your picture with the life-size nutcrackers. There will be a different Christmas movie played every night until Christmas evening. After Christmas, there will be children/family movies through the first week of January.
  • 43344 Arkwood Street ~ Musical light show and a walk up Christmas display. The garage area has a fantastic display of miniatures of a Christmas village. Musical lights will only be on from 5:30-8:30, but the lights and display will be open until 9:30.

Newark:
  • Gum Court ~ Corner of Peachtree Ave. and Gum Ct.) ~ Beautiful light show set to Christmas music. The show lasts 14 minutes and runs continuously from 5:30-10 pm Sunday-Thursday and 5:30-11 pm, Friday and Saturday. Set your car radio to 87.9FM and listen to the music with the lights.
  • 7839 Hazelnut Drive ~ The house is decorated with lights, wood cut-outs and inflatables from 6-9pm.
  • 5726 Lafayette Avenue ~ This is the home in the photo above. All the lights are synchronized to music via Light O Rama with an FM broadcast on 99.9. Star Wars sequence, Let It Go from Frozen and more! Home was featured on the 2014 ABC's Great Christmas Light Fight.
  • Dichondra Place ~ Light show broadcasting on 101.1FM.

Livermore:
  • Deacon Dave's Christmas Lights ~ 352 Hillcrest Ave. ~ Over 100,000 holiday lights around the home and property. Every year the light extravaganza has a different theme. Open to the public through the evening of January 1st. 
Pleasanton:
  • Widmer-World ~ 3671 Chelsea Court ~ Electronic Light Show with a ton of amazing "scenes" for everyone to enjoy! A scavenger hunt for the kids. Nightly through December 31st from 6-9pm (weather permitting).
San Jose: 
  • Plaza de Cesar Chavez, S. Market St. ~ Christmas In the Park ~ This holiday season marks the 35th annual Downtown San Jose Christmas in the Park. Each year, the Plaza de Cesar Chavez is transformed into a magical winter wonderland. A free family event with numerous animated holiday displays, exhibits, live entertainment and food and drink available for purchase. Los Gatos:
  • Vasona Lake County Park ~ 333 Blossom Hill Rd. ~ The park is decked out in enormous light displays of everything from Santa shooting hoops to penguins and pirates. Accompanying music is available through visitors' car stereos. Enjoy a leisurely drive through the display. Entrance is $15 per car and runs from 6-10pm through December 24th.

Alameda:
  • Christmas Tree Lane ~ 3200-3299 Thompson Ave. ~ Light displays on Christmas Tree Lane have been a neighborhood tradition since 1938. You'll find Santa and elves interacting with visitors. Have the kids drop off their letters to Santa in the specially marked mailbox and then look forward to receiving a reply.

South San Francisco:
  • Chestnut Christmas Lit Houses ~ Parkway Estates, Chestnut St. ~ Pack up the family and head over to see some of the best holiday lights around. Each year roughly 100 residents in the area band together to put up extravagant displays. Streets are open to drive through, but as crowds increase during the season, the best way to view the lights is on foot, strolling around the neighborhood. All displays are free and open to the public.
