Turkey Shirt

What fun for the kids for Thanksgiving!

By Christy S. November 9, 2011

I made this fun turkey shirt for both of my boys. It was super easy and they are so excited to wear them!

What you need:

  • Fabric Paint (brown & multiple colors for feathers)
  • Piece of cardboard to place inside the shirt so the paint won't bleed through
  • T Shirt, Polo Shirt, Apron, etc... (whatever you want to paint!)

Just wash, dry and iron shirts/item you plan to use and lay out with cardboard between the layers. I did my shirts in stages just because I tend to smudge and make a mess so I wanted to give it time in between to dry a bit. I did the "turkey bodies" first with my hand and let dry. I then did the "turkey feathers" all at once and then added a beak, eye and the turkey legs. If you are brave or have shirts to spare, let your kids assist... they will love this hands on craft!
