My daughter recently started to notice all the Halloween and Fall decorations on display at the grocery store and gas stations and... well, pretty much everywhere we go so we couldn't put it off any longer; it's time to start decorating. :)
If you're anything like us, you may be wondering how to decorate on a budget so we've started digging out all the old containers and old craft supplies that I tend to put away and forget about until they're needed.
This is what we came up with this week so have fun and we hope you have as much fun as we did!
What you need:
* Clean milk or water jug
* Glue (white or clear school glue, not glue sticks)
* Orange and yellow tissue paper
* Black construction paper cut into eyes, nose and mouth shapes for the jack-o-lantern
* Scissors
* Paintbrush
* Battery-operated LED tea light
What you do:
* Be sure the jug is clean and dry before beginning. Have the adult cut a hole about 3 inches by 3 inches or so.
* Give each person a paintbrush and cover the jug in glue (best to do it in sections) and then cover glue with orange and yellow tissue paper pieces. Layers can look super awesome! Cover entire jug.
* Use your finger to glue down any raised corners or edges then add the jack-o-lantern's face.
* Let dry completely.
* Place tea-light in jug.
* ENJOY! :)
