Earth Day at Disney Store: NewPark Mall on Sunday, April 22, 2012.

Bring in 5 plastic shopping bags to be recycled and receive a FREE reusable shopping bag!

Earth Day Tote FREE Make & Take at Michael's Stores! Sunday, April 22, 2012 from 1pm - 3pm.

Decorate a trendy tote for Earth Day! A free Make-It-Take-It, while supplies last.

FREE Recycled Earth Day Cards at the Hayward Regional Shoreline (4901 Breakwater Ave. Hayward) from 11am to noon on Saturday, April 21, 2012 for ages 5 to 12.

In honor of Earth Day, create your very own Earth to take home using natural products like starch and paper products!

Recycled Earth Day Presents at the Hayward Regional Shoreline (4901 Breakwater Ave. Hayward) from noon to 1pm for ages 8 and up, just $5! 

Celebrate Earth Day by creating Earth Day presents out of recycled paper. During class we will re-use shredded paper to create cards, books or signs. Then you can decorate your creation with food coloring, non-toxic paint or leaves and flowers. We can add seeds to our paper pulp mixture to make a clever gift that can later be planted to grow native flowers.

City of Fremont Earth Day Celebration: Let's Go Green Together! Saturday, April 21, 11am to 3pm at the Conrad E.. Anderson, M.D. Auditorium (2500 Mowry Ave. Washington West).

Join us to celebrate Earth Day! Volunteer for the Annual Creek Cleanup (9am to noon at Central Park's Stiver's Lagoon), meet with eco-friendly experts and learn new ways to go green!

Free drop off:
  • Syringes and needles in approved containers
  • Confidential documents for shredding
  • Disposal of unused, unwanted medications
  • Donate eyeglasses
  • Mercury thermometer exchange for a free mercury-free thermometer
  • Free lamp exchange (300-watt or greater halogen lamp and a copy of your PG&# bill in exchange for a new, free energy efficient lamp.
